Stacey Conlin, LVT

“Sometimes you will never know the value of a moment until it becomes a memory.” – Theodor Seuss Geisel

Stacey Conlin - also known as Stac, Squirrel, and Tater - is one of our licensed veterinary technician superstars! Born and raised in Harrisville, NY, Stacey attended SUNY Canton to obtain her LVT degree and spent many years downstate in veterinary specialty practice before making her way back to the north country to be closer to her family.  Stacey spent eight years as an amazing LVT at The Animal Doctors before transitioning over to human health care as a medical assistant, as the physical demands of being an LVT were no longer manageable.  Luckily for our team, Stacey’s love for medicine, animals, and educating pet parents brought her back to veterinary medicine!  She is now filling an important void on our team - triaging pet emergencies and clients’ questions on the telephone, determining what prescriptions can be refilled for patients, handling our team’s schedule, monitoring our injectable medication logs, and assisting with lighter physical duties of an LVT.  She also assists our reception team on certain days and is a friendly face to see behind the front desk!

Stacey brings a lot of veterinary knowledge and experience to our team, having worked in specialty practice for a number of years. She has a particular interest in veterinary oncology and has taken additional continuing education to broaden her ultrasound skills. She is really good at educating clients about different disease processes and having quality of life discussions with clients. And, she is ESPECIALLY good at drawing blood on the tiniest or biggest of patients - with one eye closed and standing on her head. One of our beloved clients nicknamed her “One-Stick Stacey” several years ago after witnessing her ability to swoop in and easily draw blood!

When asked why she chose The Animal Doctors, Stacey said that we are just like her family!

If she’s not out and about hunting, fishing, hiking, or riding her side x side, Stacey can be found cuddled up with her little black panther, Toby - a fierce hunter of the feline variety! Stacey also loves reading, gardening, and photography. One fun fact about Stacey is that she used to do Roller Derby, Fire Breathing, and Spinning!

If you could leave one piece of information for every pet parent, what would it be?

Don’t let loss keep you from loving again!
